Training on making malaria elimination plan for leaders of 15 malaria control centres/centers for preventive medicine in Central region and West-Highlands
With financial support of World Health Organization (WHO), the National institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology (NIMPE) and the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology Quy nhon (IMPE-QN) coordinated to hold the workshop "Training on Malaria Elimination for leaders of Centers for Disease Control/ Preventive Medicine/ Malaria Control in Central region and West-Highlands" Participants to the workshop included the leaders of NIMPE, IMPE-QN, leaders and staff of Centers for Disease Control/ Preventive Medicine/ Malaria Control of 15 provinces of Central Vietnam. At the workshop, the participants listened the reports on malaria situation of the region from the leader representatives of NIMPE and IMPE-Quy Nhon and the plan for the roadmap to malaria elimination according to the Decision of the Prime Minister. Besides, the workshop discussed real situation of every province and oriented specific plans for the provinces having high rate of malaria morbidity and risk of malaria drug resistance such as Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen. Moreover, the representatives shared each other advantages, difficuties in malaria control activities and gave control measures for the next period to unify the roadmap to malaria elimination in the region.

At the end of the workshop, Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Van Chuong, Director of IMPE-Quy Nhon concluded and emphasized that the leaders of every provinces had to make plan and suggest the roadmap to malaria elimination in accordance with the real situation of localities. Moreover, these suggestions contributed to the targets of malaria elimination program which would be carried out comprehensively according to the approved roadmap by the Prime Minister.
