The Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology Quy Nhon organizing the Inauguration of statue of Late Professor Heroic Martyr Dang Van Ngu
On 28th November, 2018, the The Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology Quy Nhon formally organized the Inauguration of statue of Late Professor Heroic Martyr Dang Van Ngu who founded parasitologic speciality in Vietnam. The inauguration took place in the precinct of the Institute at Zone 8, Nhon Phu ward, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province. This work of the statue brings historic and humane meaning deeply for the staff of IMPE-Quy Nhon. It contributes to education, scientific research, health care for the people to the generations who work on the field of parasitology. Participants to the inauguration included Prof. Le Ngoc Trong, former deputy minister of Ministry of Health; Prof. Le Bach Quang, former vice-director of Military Medical University, the chairman of Vietnam Parasitology Society; Assoc.Prof. Pham Van Than, former head of parasitology department, Hanoi Medical University, vice-chairman of Vietnam Parasitology Society; especially, the presence of People's Artist Dang Nhat Minh, the son of Late Professor Heroic Martyr Dang Van Ngu; the leaders and formers of the NIMPE, IMPE-Quy Nhon, Quy Hoa National Leprosy Dermatology Hospital.

Late Professor Dang Van Ngu was a great scientist, he devoted his whole life to medical research, serving the Country and serving the People. He founded the parasitology and was considered "an ancestor of the parasitology" in Vietnam. Being the next generation of the Teacher, the staff of the IMPE-Quy Nhon are very proud and report on the gained achievements in malaria control and elimination in Central region and West-Highlands, filariasis elimination, dengue fever and parasitic diseases control, contributing to taking care and protecting the people's health.
