To assess the malaria situation and support malaria response in Khanh Hoa province, where the malaria situation is currently the most complex, a working delegation comprising the Institute of Malaria, Parasitology, and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-QN), the World Health Organization (WHO) Office in Viet Nam, and the Regional Artemisinin Resistance Initiative (RAI) Project visited and worked at the local healthcare units in Khanh Hoa province from November 8th to 9th, 2023.
The Institute of Malariology, Parasitology, and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-QN) hosted two delegations on October 5-6, 2023, and October 19-21, 2023. These delegations consisted of officials, researchers, and lecturers from the College of Medicine, Gyeongsang National University, and the School of Medicine, Ajou University. Both Korean institutions are renowned in the field of science and technology, particularly in biomedical technology.
On May 26, 2023, the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology, and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-QN) had a meeting with international expert groups that have been cooperating with IMPE-QN in research and treatment of malaria, and other infectious diseases in Central Vietnam. The meeting aimed to further enhance groundbreaking applied and fundamental scientific research, cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of malaria, drug-resistant malaria, and some emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases that significantly impact human health in Viet Nam.
On December 7th, 2022, the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-QN) and BK21FOUR Center for Human Resource Development in Bio-Health Industry, College of Medicine, Gyeongsang National University (GNU), Republic of Korea signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for research collaboration on tropical diseases, especially malaria and parasitic diseases in Viet Nam.
On August 15th 2022, a delegation of experts from the US Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU-2) visited and worked at the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology, and Entomology Quy Nhon (IMPE-QN). This was the 2nd visit of NAMRU-2 delegation to IMPE-QN in 2022 with the purpose of exchanging, sharing information and seeking cooperation opportunities in the field of research and treatment of malaria as well as other infectious diseases.
